Role Overview
The Senior Sales Manager will play a senior leadership role in driving the company\'s revenue growth by acquiring high-value clients, closing complex deals, managing strategic relationships, and leading multiple sales pods.
This role is designed for an experienced commercial leader who can personally sell at a high level while also building, coaching, and managing sales teams. The Senior Sales Manager should be able to engage senior decision-makers, structure larger corporate opportunities, guide junior and mid-level sales team members, and help us scale its sales function in a disciplined and measurable way.
The Senior Sales Manager is expected to personally drive revenue, close strategic clients, and manage key relationships, while also overseeing the performance of multiple sales pods and ensuring the broader team consistently hits business targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquire and manage strategic clients by identifying and closing high-value SMEs, corporates, HNIs, importers, exporters, and businesses with significant cross-border payment needs.
- Lead complex sales opportunities involving larger transaction volumes, multiple stakeholders, pricing discussions, compliance requirements, treasury coordination, and longer decision cycles.
- Engage senior decision-makers confidently, including founders, CEOs, CFOs, finance directors, treasury teams, and business owners, clearly positioning our value proposition and payment solutions.
- Build and manage a high-quality sales pipeline across priority sectors, client segments, partnerships, referrals, outbound outreach, and market opportunities.
- Drive revenue growth across both personal and team targets by closing strategic clients, increasing transaction volume, improving repeat business, and ensuring sales pods meet monthly and quarterly targets.
- Manage and grow key client relationships by serving as a trusted senior contact, resolving escalated client issues, maintaining strong communication, and identifying opportunities to deepen client activity.
- Oversee multiple sales pods by supporting Sales Managers and Sales Executives, reviewing pipeline
- quality, monitoring performance, and ensuring each pod has clear priorities and accountability.
- Coach and develop sales team members by improving their prospecting, meeting preparation, objection
- handling, follow-up discipline, negotiation, closing, and relationship management skills.
- Set direction for sales execution by helping define target sectors, priority client profiles, outreach
- strategies, partnership opportunities, and the sales motions that should drive the strongest revenue outcomes.
- Improve the sales operating system by strengthening pipeline reviews, sales meeting rhythms, reporting standards, performance tracking, client segmentation, and follow-up discipline across the team.
- Collaborate with treasury, compliance, and operations teams to ensure larger and more complex client transactions are priced properly, executed smoothly, and delivered with a strong client experience.
- Provide senior commercial insight to leadership by sharing market feedback, client trends, competitive insights, revenue opportunities, team performance issues, and recommendations for improving growth.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of experience in sales, business development, relationship management, fintech, banking, FX, payments, or a related financial services field.
- Proven track record of acquiring and managing high-value corporate clients, strategic accounts, HNIs, or institutional relationships.
- Strong experience closing complex B2B deals involving multiple decision-makers, larger transaction values, pricing discussions, and longer sales cycles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage sales teams, sales pods, or revenue-generating team members.
- Strong understanding of FX, international payments, financial products, cross-border transactions, client onboarding, and transaction execution.
- Ability to engage senior stakeholders professionally, including CEOs, founders, CFOs, finance managers, treasury teams, and corporate decision-makers.
- Strong commercial judgment, with the ability to identify profitable opportunities, prioritize high-value accounts, and guide team members on where to focus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, coaching, and relationship management skills.
- Strong leadership ability, with a track record of developing salespeople, driving accountability, and improving team performance.
- Strategic mindset, with the ability to contribute meaningfully to company-level sales strategy, market expansion, partnerships, and revenue planning.

Compensation
- Base Salary: NGN 1,200,000 – NGN 1,500,000 monthly
- Performance Incentives: In addition to base salary, the Senior Sales Manager will be eligible for performance-based incentives tied to achievement of personal, pod-level, and overall sales targets.
- Incentives will be based on clear sales performance metrics, including revenue generated, transaction volume, strategic clients closed, repeat transactions, quality of pipeline, pod performance, and contribution to overall business growth.
- Performance will be reviewed monthly and quarterly, with incentives awarded based on achievement against agreed personal and team targets.
