As we increase our processing capacity as well as our global distribution, we seek an experienced senior project accountant to oversee project accounting and general accounting operations.
The Senior Project Accountant is responsible for project accounting, budget organization and oversees general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions.
Job Responsibilities
Access and understand contracts, project schedules, budgets and commercial risks
Work closely with Project Managers to ensure accurately billing invoices are created
Prepare monthly scheduled client invoices in coordination with Project Managers
Authorize outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
Track and report project budget versus actuals performance
Understand general knowledge of project cost accounting and Work-in-Process
Address project specific client and internal billing matters
Input project subcontractor and other-direct-cost invoices
Ensure client approval of invoices and timely payment
Compile, store and retrieves data
Participate in regular team meetings to help identify process flow improvements and efficiencies
Collaborate with other departments to ensure billing accuracy
Perform various other accounting and administrative duties as required.
Other Requirements
B.Sc Degree in Accounting, or Finance with a minimum of 5 years work experience
Strong communication, writing and organizational skills
Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like QuickBooks
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple assignments concurrently
Positive attitude who has a demonstrated track record of being a team player on a highly interdependent team
Relevant certification (e.g. ICAN or ACCA) will be preferred
Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like QuickBooks
Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Accounting Supervisor, Chief or Senior accountant.
