Senior Procurement Manager at Arit of Africa Limited

Detailed Description / Responsibilities

• Responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services for the company according to its available budget for each department and Arit as a whole.
• S/He would also be responsible for close control of purchasing budgets, negotiating with suppliers, ensuring delivery schedules are met and preparing ongoing reports for company Executive Director, Technical (EDT) and manage logistics personnel and logistics systems and direct daily operations.
• Supervising the Procurement and logistics department as a whole. Procurement of goods for the company to meet orders
• Receiving new/returned items to store
• Production/issuance of Retail Stock
• Warehouse/Store issuance & stock updates
• Delivery of orders to clients
• Record keeping of numbers done with OEMs
• Sending parcels and documents via courier/cargo
• Management of Imports and Exports with cargo agents
• Update of the inventory software with items in/out of stock -administration
• Weekly circulation of distributors and supplier price-list for the marketing team
• Update of delivery database with delivery sheets/waybills
• Liaising with accounts department on issue of stock
• Back office support for the sales department
• Digitization of all LPOs & other related documents
• Efficient preparation/timely submission of BIDS/TENDERS
• Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency.
• Establish or monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems
• Create policies or procedures for logistics activity.
• Plan or implement material flow management systems to meet production requirements.
• Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, or training or safety records.
• Implement specific customer requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics.
• Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
• Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
• Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.
• Negotiate transportation rates or services.
• Design models for use in evaluating logistics programs or services.
• Supervise the work of logistics specialists, planners, or schedulers.
• Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products or supplies.
• Communicate freight transportation information to customers or suppliers, using transportation management, electronic logistics marketplace, or electronic freight information systems, to improve efficiency, speed, or quality of transportation services.
• Review global, national, or regional transportation or logistics reports for ways to improve efficiency or minimize the environmental impact of logistics activities.
