Job Description:

• As the Senior Manager, Legal at BEDC Electricity Plc you will play a pivotal role in our legal department, overseeing legal affairs and company secretariat duties.
• Your extensive experience will be crucial in navigating the complex legal and corporate governance landscape of our industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage legal functions, including contract negotiation, compliance, and dispute resolution.
• Oversee company secretariat duties, ensuring adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Provide expert legal counsel to senior management on a wide range of issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure legal compliance across all aspects of the business.
• Manage intellectual property, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and implement legal strategies to protect the company's interests.
• Mentor and guide legal professionals within the department.

Qualifications:

• LLB (Hons) BL (Masters would be added advantage).
• Minimum of 17 years post call experience, with a focus on corporate law, governance, and company secretariat duties.
• Strong knowledge of industry-specific legal frameworks and regulations.
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a legal team.
• Experience in handling complex legal matters and providing strategic legal counsel.
• Adaptable and forward-thinking with the ability to navigate legal challenges.
