    Senior Legal Associate (Technology Transactions)

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Team Leadership and Mentorship
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of legal professionals focused on technology, start-ups, and tech policy.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, encouraging professional growth and development within the team.
    • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring quality and timely delivery of client solutions.

    Client Advisory and Relationship Management

    • Act as the primary legal advisor for technology clients, start-ups, and organizations involved in tech policy.
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their business goals, and anticipating legal needs.
    • Provide strategic guidance on corporate structuring, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, data privacy, and related legal areas.

    Policy and Regulatory Expertise

    • Stay abreast of tech policy trends, emerging regulations, and legislative changes that impact technology companies and start-ups.
    • Collaborate with clients on navigating complex tech policy and regulatory frameworks, including GDPR, AI legislation, and evolving data protection standards.
    • Engage with industry associations, advocacy groups, and regulators to influence policy in alignment with clients’ interests.

    Start-Up Focused Legal Support

    • Guide start-up clients through all stages of growth, including seed funding, venture capital rounds, and exits.
    • Advise on equity structures, shareholder agreements, IP protection, employment law, and other start-up-specific legal needs.
    • Work with clients on risk management and strategic planning as they expand their operations and scale their businesses.

    Business Development and Thought Leadership

    • Identify opportunities for expanding services to tech and start-up clients, driving business growth and client acquisition.
    • Develop thought leadership content, including articles, white papers, and presentations, to enhance the firm’s reputation in the tech industry.
    • Represent the firm at tech conferences, industry events, and policy discussions, building brand presence in the tech and start-up ecosystem.

    Qualifications:

    • LL.B, B.L. and current admission to practice law in Nigeria. An LL.M is preferable but not mandatory
    • 5+ years of experience in technology law, start-up advisory, or tech policy, with a strong background in advising tech companies and start-ups.
    • Proven track record of managing a team and delivering exceptional client service.
    • Deep understanding of technology regulations, intellectual property law, data privacy (GDPR, NDPR), and tech policy.
    • Experience working with start-ups on corporate structuring, fundraising, IP, and employment issues.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with clients at all levels, including executives and founders.
    • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and excellent problem-solving abilities.
