Qualifications and Requirements

• A candidate needs a PhD in a relevant field from a recognised school with at least six years of cognate experience.
• A candidate with a Master’s degree in a relevant field needs at least eight years of cognate experience, with clear ability in applied research and industrial work.

The candidate must also meet these conditions:

• Must have served as Lecturer I for the last three years
• Must show ability to start and supervise an approved research project
• Must have one journal article or two chapter contributions in a standard textbook
• Must have attended and read at least three conference or seminar papers since last promotion
• Must show academic and administrative leadership
• Must show evidence of community service
• Must belong to relevant professional bodies, where needed
