Senior General Manager, Mechanical - Klin at Dangote

The Senior General Manager Mechanical - Kiln in the cement industry is responsible for maintaining the mechanical equipment in kilns. This includes planning, operations, and management. They are also responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient use of plant resources.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing maintenance strategies

• Overseeing the maintenance of plant equipment and facilities
• Planning and scheduling maintenance operations
• Ensuring adequate spares are available for maintenance
• Creating and implementing measures to minimize breakdowns and repairs
• Planning and overseeing repair and installation activities
• Monitoring equipment inventory and placing orders when necessary
• Managing contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements
• Enforcing health and safety rules and regulations
• Developing short and long term maintenance programs for mechanical kilns
• Coordinating kiln inspections, assessments, and adjustments
• Evaluating the need for new machines or upgrades to existing machinery
• Ensuring critical production equipment are in good working condition
• Monitoring maintenance activities for efficiency and safety
• Overseeing technical staff and providing expertise as required
• Enforcing accident prevention and occupational health work procedures and regulations
• Troubleshooting Kiln Operation maintenance challenges
• Spares and Maintenance Planning for Shutdown Preparation for Kilns Coolers Coal Stacker Reclaimer.

Requirements

The following skills and qualifications are required for the position of Senior General Manager of Mechanical Kilns maintenance:

• B.Sc. / B.Tech. / HND in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 27 years of relevant experience in Cement plant maintenance, including experience as a Head of kilns maintenance.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of condition monitoring methods.
• Should have the capability to take care of Line 1-5 Kilns and Coolers.
• Should have good experience in maintenance of FLs Crossbar Coolers and IKN Coolers troubleshooting of Hydraulic System.
