Senior Formulation & Product Development Scientist at Naxawellness

Role Overview:

• The Formulation & Product Development Scientist will work closely with our Research Coordinator and Head of Product Innovation (external consultant) to translate research insights into stable, effective, market-ready herbal formulations.
• You will support innovation, run experiments, improve existing formulas, and contribute to the development of our upcoming clinical-grade product line.

Key Responsibilities:

Formulation & Development

• Support the development of herbal/nutraceutical formulations (powders, teas, liquid extracts, capsules).
• Conduct pre-formulation trials, ingredient compatibility tests, and optimization experiments.
• Work with standardized extracts, herbal powders, and nutraceutical actives.
• Improve solubility, taste, stability, and functional performance of formulas.

R&D Support

• Assist in literature review, ingredient research, and data gathering.
• Maintain formulation sheets, research notes, and R&D documentation.
• Work closely with the Research Coordinator to validate scientific evidence for ingredients.

Stability & Quality

• Conduct stability studies and support QC testing.
• Evaluate shelf-life, moisture levels, pH, microbial load, and organoleptic properties.
• Ensure R&D batches meet internal quality standards.

Qualifications / Education:

•  BSc/MSc in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy, Biochemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Food Science, or related fields.
• 3–8 years experience in formulation development (pharmaceutical, herbal, nutraceutical, functional food, or supplements).
• Strong understanding of herbal ingredients, excipients, interactions, and product stability.
• Experience with powder mixing, extraction, granulation, or liquid formulation (any is fine).
• Solid documentation skills and attention to detail.
• Passion for science, innovation, and evidence-based natural medicine.
