Colourbox Early Learning Hub is looking for an experienced, passionate and dedicated Senior Early Years Practitioners to join our team in Opebi, Ikeja.
This is a room-based practitioner role. The successful candidate will work directly with children aged 0–5 years, supporting their learning, development, care and wellbeing.
We are looking for someone who has previous experience working within an early years setting and who has a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
This role is ideal for an experienced practitioner who wants to develop their skills further, with the opportunity to progress into a Room Leader position in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with children aged 0–5 years as part of the room team.
- Provide a safe, caring, stimulating and nurturing environment for children.
- Support children's learning and development in line with the EYFS.
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities and experiences.
- Observe, assess and document children's learning and development.
- Respond to children's individual needs and interests.
- Build positive relationships with children and their families.
- Support daily routines, including mealtimes, sleep routines, toileting and personal care where appropriate.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health, safety and hygiene.
- Work effectively as part of the room team and wider nursery team.
- Support colleagues and contribute positively to the daily running of the room.
- Demonstrate initiative and take responsibility for providing consistently high-quality care and learning experiences.
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate must:
- Have previous experience working with children aged 0–5 years in a nursery, crèche, preschool or similar early years setting.
- Hold an NCE or recognised Early Years qualification.
- Have a sound knowledge and practical understanding of the EYFS.
- Be confident working with children across the 0–5 age range.
- Be passionate about children's learning, development and wellbeing.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be reliable, responsible and committed to high standards of practice.
- Be comfortable working as part of a team and supporting children across different rooms when required.
- Demonstrate the potential to develop into a Room Leader in the future.
- Live within the Ikeja axis or have a reliable and reasonable commute to Opebi, Ikeja.
Please Note
This is a full-time, room-based practitioner position.
- This is NOT a part-time role. Candidates must be available to work the required hours between 7:30am and 6:00pm.
- The successful candidate will be expected to work directly with children and be actively involved in the day-to-day activities and routines of their allocated room.
- The position is based in Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos, so applicants should live within the Ikeja axis and be able to commute reliably to the setting.
