Senior Buyer/Technical Officer at Desicon Engineering Limited

Key Responsibilities

 Source and procure goods and services in accordance with company policies and project specifications

• Prepare RFQs, evaluate bids, and negotiate terms with suppliers
• Generate and manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and contracts
• Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and cost targets
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation and records in ERP systems
• Review and interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and BOQs
• Ensure purchased items meet required technical standards and project specifications
• Liaise with engineering, QA/QC, and project teams to validate material compliance
• Participate in technical bid evaluations and vendor assessments
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with approved vendors and contractors
• Conduct regular market analysis and identify alternative sources for strategic items
• Support vendor pre-qualification and periodic performance reviews
• Technical aptitude with an understanding of engineering materials and equipment
• Track and report procurement status, cost savings, and delivery performance
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Support internal and external audits as required

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in technical procurement or buying roles, preferably in Oil & Gas, Construction, or EPC sectors
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and supply chain best practices
• Proficient in ERP systems 
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with international standards and technical specifications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
