BACKGROUND:  

As an origin‐integrated business operating in over 40 major producing countries worldwide, ECOM focuses primarily on coffee, cotton, and cocoa. In West Africa, ECOM is one of the leading cocoa companies operating between farm gate and chocolate maker clients. We also trade in other crops, such as cashew and sesame. We provide advisory services, training and support to farmers on productivity, quality, certification, and crop diversification, environmental and broader social issues. We also run a fleet of over 150 modern trucks that serves our logistics and transport needs. We provide farmers with relevant products including a range of agro‐inputs and micro‐financing options. The company impacts the livelihoods of over 250,000 smallholder farmers. 

In Nigeria, Ecom is made up of two (2) fast growing entities.

GENERAL WORK DESCRIPTION

The Audit Senior is responsible for setting up and managing audit systems; organizing and co-ordinating internal audits in accordance with the annual audit plan as well as co-ordinating external audit visits and managing a team of auditors across the ECOM Nigeria.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and implement internal Control Systems for a number of entities within the ECOM Nigeria
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Plan audit visits for the various entities
• Draw audit programmes for audit visits
• Write weekly and monthly audit reports
• Monitor and report on risks across assigned entities
• Regular visit to all Ecom locations as necessary 

EDUCATION, PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE, AND SPECIALIZED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:  

•  Chartered Accountant/CFA/Cost Accountant with 3 years’ audit experience with a reputable organization or
• Master degree in Economics or related course with 4 years’ audit experience with a reputable organization or
• First degree in BSc Admin/Economics with 5 years’ audit experience with a reputable organization
• Experience in managing teams
• Advanced analytical skills
• Advanced spreadsheet and computer literacy
• Ability to work independently
• Good project-, time management skills and the ability to work towards tight deadlines
• Excellent collaboration, verbal and written (especially report writing) communication skills
• Ability to think outside the box and have an innovative approach
• Good experience in an audit firm is an advantage
