    Senior Associate Nursing Officer - Lagos

    The Role

    • The Senior Associate Nursing Officer leads the nursing team to deliver safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care.
    • They supervise and support nurses, provide clinical guidance, coordinate patient care, and help the team make safe clinical decisions.
    • The Senior Associate Nursing Officer uses data to improve nursing services, leads quality improvement activities, oversees nursing supplies and equipment, and supports staff training and development.
    • They also work closely with doctors, other healthcare professionals, and external partners to ensure patients receive coordinated care and that nursing services meet all regulatory, quality, and organizational standards. 

    What You'll Do

    • Lead and support the nursing team to deliver safe, high-quality, and patient-centred care.
    • Provide clinical guidance on patient assessment, care planning, and escalation of complex cases.
    • Oversee the delivery of immunization, family planning, preventive care, and patient education programmes.
    • Collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and service delivery.
    • Set performance goals for nursing staff and monitor key performance indicators.
    • Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and support the professional development of nursing staff.
    • Develop duty rosters and staffing plans to ensure adequate workforce coverage.
    • Support the recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of nursing staff.
    • Drive quality improvement initiatives through audits, clinical reviews, and implementation of corrective actions.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, infection prevention standards, professional regulations, and statutory requirements.
    • Maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, government agencies, and other external stakeholders.
    • Oversee nursing operations to ensure efficient patient flow and timely delivery of services.
    • Manage nursing inventory, vaccines, medications, consumables, and clinical equipment.
    • Coordinate nursing support for health programmes, outreach activities, and corporate health initiatives.
    • Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
    • Analyse clinical and operational data to identify improvement opportunities and support decision-making.
    • Prepare reports on nursing performance, programme outcomes, patient satisfaction, and quality improvement initiatives.
    • Monitor patient feedback and implement initiatives that improve patient experience and service quality.

    Requirements
    What You'll Bring:

    • Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc.) with a current and valid Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) Practicing License. 
    • Must have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme or possess a valid Certificate of Exemption. 
    • Minimum of 4 years' post-NYSC clinical experience in a hospital or clinic setting. 

    Nice to Have: 

    • Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems or other healthcare management software, with experience using data and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
    • Experience coordinating corporate health checks, community health programmes, or other public health outreach initiatives
    • Previous experience leading, supervising, or coordinating a team of nurses or healthcare workers.
    • Good knowledge of immunization, family planning, infection prevention and quality improvement.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, organizational, and decision-making skills.
    • Demonstrated leadership experience, including staff supervision, performance management, coaching, and mentorship.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    • Additional relevant clinical certifications or a postgraduate qualification in Nursing, Public Health, Health Administration, or a related field will be an added advantage.
