Senior Accountant at Virgin Forest Energy Limited

We are looking for a Senior Accountant who will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls. The role supports period-end close processes, statutory compliance, and audit activities while providing reliable financial
information for management use.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Maintain accurate accounting records and general ledger entries.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and supporting schedules.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Support preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Process statutory taxes including PAYE, VAT, and WHT.
• Support internal and external audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 4–6 years relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
