Senior Accountant at Renmoney

Renmoney is on the lookout for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, examine, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP).
• Manage and oversee general ledger activities, including reviewing and approving journal entries and schedules.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing accurate financial data and insightful variance analysis.
• Conduct periodic reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial ledgers.
• Ensure timely and accurate regulatory filings and financial returns, particularly to bodies such as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).
• Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits, acting as a key point of contact for auditors and regulatory authorities.
• Implement and monitor robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks and prevent fraud or mismanagement.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to provide financial insights that drive business performance.
• Drive the automation and continuous improvement of accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a bank
• Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, ICAN) is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software and proficiency in MS Excel.
• In depth knowledge of IFRS
• Audit experience (internal or external)
• Experience with consolidated financial statements
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities, meeting tight deadlines
