Overview

• The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic financial decision-making. The role requires a strong understanding of fund management operations, capital markets, and financial reporting within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and regulatory requirements
• Oversee fund accounting activities, including NAV calculations, portfolio valuation, and investor reporting
• Ensure compliance with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations and other statutory requirements
• Manage general ledger activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis
• Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and regulators
• Monitor and manage accounts payable, receivable, and treasury functions
• Prepare and file tax returns and ensure timely remittance of all statutory obligations
• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support investment and strategic decisions
• Maintain and enforce strong internal controls and risk management processes
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff
• Manage the fixed asset register and oversee periodic asset verification exercises
• Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and performance tracking
• Act as the primary point of contact for audit and regulatory inquiries

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACA, ACCA, CPA) is required
• Minimum of 5–7 years’ relevant experience, preferably within a fund management, asset management, or financial services firm
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting, financial reporting, and SEC regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Solid understanding of IFRS and financial controls
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
• High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
