Senior Accountant at Ascentech Services Limited

Overview

• The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing reports, analyzing costs, inventory control, and other related tasks. This role plays a crucial part in providing financial insights and recommendations tsupport strategic decision-making within the organization.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the Financial Controller (FC) in preparing annual budgets for all operations and departments.
• Perform monthly variance analyses between budgeted and actual revenues and costs, obtain explanations for variances, and advise management on budget compliance.
• Monitor capital expenditure tensure alignment with approved CAPEX budgets.
• Manage the company’s fixed assets, including verification, additions, depreciation, work-in-progress, and disposals, in line with company policies.
• Assist in the appraisal and preparation of justifications for new investments in the company’s businesses.
• Support the FC in determining appropriate pricing for the company’s products and services, ensuring profitability and market competitiveness.
• Conduct accurate costing of production batches and ensure proper general ledger postings.
• Periodically analyze production costs and yields, compare actuals with standards/targets, and provide recommendations for variance resolution.
• Perform monthly reviews of general ledger accounts tensure proper classification, accuracy, and output integrity.
• Prepare daily/monthly raw materials carrying cost trackers and product margin analyses against business margin objectives.
• Assist in preparing periodic financial statements in compliance with financial reporting standards.
• Prepare quarterly performance reports and insurance declaration returns.
• Ensure timely treatment and implementation of audit recommendations.
• Supervise and train direct reports tbuild a high-performing team.

Qualifications & Experience:

• HND/B.Sc. in Accounting or a related field.
• Chartered Accountant certification (ICAN) is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Manufacturing Industry.
