The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial decisions within the organization.
The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working in project-based environments such as oil & gas or civil engineering.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience in financial management, reporting, budgeting, and regulatory compliance, with the ability to collaborate across departments including operations, procurement, and management.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
Manage general ledger activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and payroll processes.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Monitor project costs and provide financial insights on project performance.
Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.
Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
Ensure accurate tax filings and liaise with regulatory authorities where required.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to ensure cost control and financial discipline.
Prepare management reports and present financial insights to senior leadership.
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is required.
5–7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in oil & gas or engineering sectors.
At least 2–3 years in a senior accounting or supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
Experience with project accounting and cost control in a project-driven environment.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
High level of integrity and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
