Role Summary

• The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial decisions within the organization.
• The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working in project-based environments such as oil & gas or civil engineering.
• The ideal candidate will have solid experience in financial management, reporting, budgeting, and regulatory compliance, with the ability to collaborate across departments including operations, procurement, and management.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Manage general ledger activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and payroll processes.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Monitor project costs and provide financial insights on project performance.
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
• Ensure accurate tax filings and liaise with regulatory authorities where required.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to ensure cost control and financial discipline.
• Prepare management reports and present financial insights to senior leadership.

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is required.
• 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in oil & gas or engineering sectors.
• At least 2–3 years in a senior accounting or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with project accounting and cost control in a project-driven environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
