Senior Accountant at Africa Access

Job Description

• The main responsibility of the Senior Accountant is to oversee general accounting operations. The responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures.
• The ideal candidate must also have experience in ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all our accounting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
• Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results.
• Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
• Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule.
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
• Support month-end and year-end close process.
• policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.

Requirements and Skills

• Should possess a minimum of B.Sc degree in any discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years working in accounts or similar roles.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent use of Microsoft office programs.
• Must have good people working skills / team player.
• Must possess a CAN-DO attitude to the business issues
• Independent and dependable.
• Able to work under high pressure and within tight deadlines.
• Relevant certification and Knowledge of SAP, ERP
• Proven experience as Account anting Supervisor or senior accountant
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
