    Seeds Processing Associate

    Location: Zaria, Kaduna

    Job Summary

    • The Seeds Processing Associate will support to prepare harvested seeds for market by performing tasks like drying, cleaning, grading, treating, packaging, and quality testing, operating machinery, maintaining records, ensuring safety, and assisting with inventory to guarantee high-quality, compliant seed distribution
    • The preferred candidate is expected to ensure high-quality seeds are prepared for storage and distribution by operating and maintaining processing equipment, performing quality checks, and adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Operate machinery for drying, cleaning (removing foreign material), grading (by size/quality), and treating seeds (applying protective coatings)
    • Bag, label, and prepare seeds for shipment; maintain neat and organized storage; assist with inventory tracking and reconciliation.
    • Safely operate equipment (potentially including forklifts), perform routine checks, and assist with troubleshooting operational issues.
    • Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations; maintain accurate records of processing activities and compliance.
    • Assist in implementing quality assurance procedures to ensure the integrity of processed materials
    • Conduct regular inspections and tests on processed seeds to maintain quality standards
    • Address any quality issues promptly and develop corrective action plans
    • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues
    • Assist in implementing best practices for waste reduction and resource conservation
    • Any other duties as assigned to meet organisational requirements

    Qualifications
    Education, Training and Experience:

    • ND in Environmental Science, Engineering, Material Science or a related field
    • Minimum of 1 year of working experience in electrical maintenance and repair, welding, mechanical maintenance and repair, processing, and recycling efforts

    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Strong knowledge of processing technologies and recycling practices
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to safety and quality
    • Problem-solving mindset and ability to work under pressure
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
    • Passion for sustainability and environmental responsibility
    • Computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
    • Ready to work in difficult environmental conditions
    • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment to the Company’s mission
