Secondary School Librarian at Halifield Schools

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and organise the school library and its resources.
• Manage the school bookstore, including inventory, sales, records, and stock replenishment.
• Assist students and staff in accessing books, digital resources, and other learning materials.
• Maintain accurate records of library materials, loans, returns, bookstore inventory, and sales.
• Promote reading culture and support students in developing strong research and information-literacy skills.
• Coordinate library programmes and activities that enhance teaching and learning.
• Recommend and acquire relevant library and bookstore resources in line with curriculum needs.
• Ensure the library and bookstore environments are conducive, orderly, and welcoming.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree/HND in Library and Information Science, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Previous experience as a school librarian, bookstore manager, or in a similar role is an advantage.
• Strong organisational, communication, record-keeping, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in the use of computer applications, inventory systems, and digital library resources.
• Ability to work effectively with secondary school students and staff.
• Basic knowledge of stock management and sales procedures is an added advantage.
