Roles and Responsibilities

• Acting as the Chief Engineer's assistant. Second Engineers are familiar with all machinery, steering gears, pumps and main engine maintenance. He will assist in the supervision of engine room ratings and gives them their daily work schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out and control watch keeping duties and related maintenance / tasks as required by the PMS and instructed by the Chief Engineer
• Assist the Chief Engineer and learn all aspects of his duties with a view to eventual promotion
• Allocate duties to the junior engineers and oilers
• Committed to Safety and Company Procedures in all tasks
• Above mentioned list of duties is not exhaustive and tasks on board vessels assigned to this position are not limited to above list.

Areas of operations:

• West Africa (Angola, Nigeria, Gabon, Cameroon, Congo, Ivory Coast,...)
• Persian Gulf (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE)
• Egypt
• India
• Trinidad/Guyana

Rotation (in average):

• 90 days on/off

Qualifications, Skills and Experiences
Our minimum certificates requirements:

• Second Engineer license unlimited (STCW III/2)

Preferred:

• Competence in Fast Rescue Boats (STCW A-VI/2-2)

Our Minimum Experience Requirements:
For AHTS:

• 6  months seatime in rank on AHTW/TUG
• 1 Rig Move/Towing
• Diesel electric experience

For PSV:

• 6 months seatime in rank on OSV
• Diesel electric experience

For MPSV:

• 6 months seatime in rank on MPSV
• Diesel electric experience

Candidate Criteria

• Minimum level of education required: 6 - Other
• Licenses (seafearers only): Second Engineer Unlimited (A-III/2)
• Languages: English (Maritime English).
