    School Head of Operations

    Job Summary

    • The School Head of Operations plays a vital role in overseeing the efficient and effective functioning of all operational aspects within a school environment.
    • This senior leadership position requires strong organizational, managerial, and problem-solving skills, as well as a deep understanding of educational operations.
    • The Head of Operations collaborates with various stakeholders, including administrators, faculty, staff, students, and parents, to ensure a safe, productive, and supportive learning environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Operational Management: Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and procedures to optimize the operational efficiency of the school. This includes overseeing facilities management, transportation, security, technology, procurement, and other operational functions.
    • Budget and Resource Management: Collaborate with the school administration to develop and manage the annual budget for operational expenses. Monitor and control expenditures, negotiate contracts, and seek cost-effective solutions while ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations.
    • Facilities and Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and improvement of school facilities, ensuring they meet health, safety, and environmental standards. Coordinate repairs, renovations, and construction projects, liaising with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders as necessary.
    • Safety and Security: Develop and implement comprehensive safety and security protocols to safeguard students, staff, and school assets. Regularly review emergency procedures, and conduct drills to ensure a safe learning environment.
    • Technology Management: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of technology infrastructure and systems within the school. Coordinate with IT staff to ensure reliable network connectivity, manage hardware and software upgrades, and provide technical support to staff and students.
    • Compliance and Regulations: Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements pertaining to school operations. Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, maintain necessary records, and collaborate with appropriate authorities during inspections or audits.
    • Team Leadership: Provide effective leadership and supervision to operational staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional development opportunities. Encourage teamwork, set performance goals, and conduct regular evaluations.
    • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with school administrators, faculty, staff, students, parents, and external partners to address operational challenges and promote a harmonious school environment. Act as a liaison between various stakeholders, facilitating communication and conflict resolution when necessary.

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in an educational setting or similar complex organization.
    • Strong understanding of educational operations, including facilities management, safety protocols, technology integration, and transportation logistics.
    • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Sound financial management skills, including budget planning, resource allocation, and cost control.
    • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements within the education sector.
    • Proficiency in technology systems and tools relevant to school operations.
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and work well under pressure.
