Savings Group Experts at Hacey Health Initiative

Role Summary

• HACEY is seeking experienced Savings Group Experts to provide technical assistance for a national programme focused on the accelerated formation of women’s savings groups across Northern Nigeria.
• This is a performance-based, field-intensive role suited for professionals with strong expertise in women’s economic empowerment, savings group methodologies (VSLA, SILC), and community mobilization.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver step-down training for community facilitators and local government teams on savings group formation, governance, and data management
• Support the mobilization and formation of 1,200 savings groups across LGAs
• Conduct field visits, observe group sessions, and provide real-time feedback
• Provide weekly and monthly activity reports on savings group performance
• Ensure proper data management and timely reporting
• Conduct supervision visits using diagnostics tools and corrective plans
• Reinforce safeguarding policies and community awareness
• Support data quality checks and digital reporting systems
• Document field challenges and recommend improvements

Requirements

Education:

• Degree in Social Sciences, Management, Education, Development Studies, Public Health, or related field

Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years in women’s empowerment, savings groups, or financial inclusion programmes
• Experience in training, facilitation, and field supervision

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of savings group methodologies (VSLA, SILC)
• Data collection and reporting skills
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills

Language:

• Fluent in English (local Northern Nigerian languages are an advantage)

Other Requirements:

• Willingness to travel extensively across LGAs and wards
• Ability to work in high-intensity field environments
