Sales Manager (Solar) at Proten

Summary

• The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving corporate sales growth, achieving revenue and sales targets, and expanding the customer base across key market verticals.
• The role will focus on customer acquisition, business development, relationship management, opportunity conversion, and leading sales initiatives across target sectors including Healthcare, Hospitality, Agriculture, SMEs, Education, and Financial Institutions.
• The ideal candidate should have strong corporate sales experience, a good understanding of the renewable energy/utility market, and a proven ability to lead sales teams and consistently deliver against targets.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development:

• Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve corporate sales and revenue targets.
• Identify, prospect, and acquire new customers across assigned market verticals.
• Build and manage a strong sales pipeline and consistently convert opportunities into closed business.
• Develop new business accounts and prepare compelling sales proposals for prospective clients.
• Identify new markets, customer segments, and business opportunities to drive revenue growth.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, industry executives, and strategic customers.
• Participate in sales calls, client meetings, site inspections, presentations, and negotiations to drive business closure.
• Represent the organization at relevant industry events, exhibitions, and business networking opportunities.
• Implement sales initiatives and action plans aligned with the overall marketing and business strategy.

Customer & Stakeholder Management:

• Build and maintain professional, long-term relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
• Provide timely responses and high-quality service throughout the customer journey.
• Manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate business growth and successful customer delivery.
• Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate energy solutions based on their requirements.
• Participate in opportunity development and deal closure alongside other members of the sales team.

Sales Performance & Reporting:

• Set clear sales objectives and ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
• Monitor sales pipeline, product bookings, earned revenue, and other relevant KPIs.
• Track and analyse sales performance and identify areas requiring improvement.
• Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
• Use sales data and market intelligence to improve performance and identify growth opportunities.

Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead, motivate, and support the sales team to achieve agreed business objectives.
• Monitor individual and team performance against sales targets and KPIs.
• Conduct or facilitate sales training, presentations, and direct marketing sessions.
• Support team members in prospecting, customer engagement, negotiations, and closing opportunities.
• Foster a high-performance, target-driven sales culture.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• A Master's degree is an advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in sales and marketing, within the Solar Industry with proven experience in a sales management or similar role.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets, preferably within a corporate/B2B sales environment.
• Experience selling to HNIs, corporate organizations, or defined target market segments.
• Strong understanding of the utility and renewable energy sectors, including market dynamics and relevant regulatory considerations.
• Good understanding of sales operations, business development, customer acquisition, and sales conversion.
• Experience managing and developing high-value customer and stakeholder relationships.
