    Sales and Distribution Manager (National)

    The Sales and Distribution Manager is responsible for developing and executing a national sales and distribution strategy for our premium bakery brands all through the Nation and delivering the monthly and annual sales targets. Also liaises with the marketing and operations department towards achieving the sales objectives. He coordinates the activities of the sales and distribution team and develops plans and strategies that facilitate sales growth. He oversees the performance and training of the sales team.

    • Developing and executing a solid national sales and distribution strategy.
    • Recruiting, training and developing national, regional and local sales and distribution teams.
    • Developing and executing sales and distribution processes and procedures.
    • Recruiting new and managing existing independent distributors.
    • Coordinating the activities of the Sales teams across all territories to ensure that sales targets are met.
    • Identifying opportunities for route expansion and growth in sales and distribution.
    • Identifying new markets and creating plans to enter markets.
    • Expanding routes and working with the Sales teams to grow sales.
    • Monitoring the expenses of the Sales department to ensure cost effectiveness.
    • Identifying retailers / supermarkets / distributors needs, wants, habits, interests and other relevant factors used in creating sales and marketing strategies.
    • Preparing sales and distribution forecasts and increasing market share and profitability.
    • Updating sales department and retailer/supermarket/distributor databases; keeping all sales and marketing records.
    • Monitoring and evaluating performance of sales staff.
    • Gathering retailer/supermarket/distributor feedback from Sales team on weekly basis and reporting same to the Executive Management.
    • Training and holding weekly meetings with Sales teams; preparing weekly reports on tasks completed and tasks in progress.
    • Analysing market trends and competitor activities and reporting same to the Executive Management.
    • Preparing and presenting daily, weekly and/or monthly reports as required to the Executive Management.
    • Keeping informed of sales and distributions best practices, strategies, principles and trends and giving recommendations to the Executive Committee; ensuring that the business is at the forefront of the industry.
    • Ensuring that sales staff deliver products to retailers/supermarkets/distributors at or before the delivery time agreed with retailers/supermarkets/distributors.
    • Preparing relevant letters, reports, memos and official correspondence as required.
    • Ensuring timely collection of payments by Sales teams from retailers/supermarkets/distributors and ensuring accurate and timely remittance of payments by as and when due.
    • Maintaining discipline, neatness and proper dressing code across the sales teams.
    • Creating, coordinating and implementing strategic plans as and when required for how the organization will achieve and maintain a competitive advantage in the market.
    • Performing other official duties as assigned.
    • Ensuring an effective creation and management of Depots around the country to achieve sales objectives.

    Educational Qualification:

    • Minimum of B.Sc. in Marketing, Business Administration or any relevant discipline.
    • An MSc in Marketing or an MBA will be an added advantage.

    Job Requirements:

    • Minimum of 7 – 10 years experience as a sales executive in National/Regional Levels a or a similar role, especially in FMCG.
    • Good understanding of market research techniques, data analysis and statistical methods.
    • Thorough knowledge of strategic planning principles as well as sales & distribution best practices.
    • Understanding of commercial trends, Sales and Distribution strategies.
    • Integrity and reliability.
    • Practical experience in managing a medium size scaled force of at least thirty persons.

    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Sound numerical and problem-solving skills.
    • Efficient leadership skills.
    • Proficient Word and Microsoft Excel skills.

    • Remuneration and Benefits:
    • Monthly gross salary: N320,000 – 420,000
    • Commission package: Very Attractive
