We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Officer to ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards across our construction sites. This role is responsible for conducting risk assessments, enforcing safety policies, and fostering a safety-first culture among staff and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead daily toolbox talks and site safety inductions.
Conduct risk assessments and proactively identify hazards.
Enforce compliance with safety regulations and ensure proper PPE usage.
Investigate incidents and recommend preventive actions.
Maintain accurate safety records, incident logs, and audit documentation.
Train workers and subcontractors on site-specific safety procedures.
Coordinate emergency response drills and readiness plans.
Provide regular HSE compliance reports to management.
Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Safety Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
2–4 years of hands-on HSE experience in construction or similar environments.
Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ISPON) are highly preferred.
In-depth knowledge of Nigerian HSE regulations and construction safety practices.
Strong communication, observation, and reporting skills.
