Job Summary:

The Senior Transport Manager is responsible for directing and overseeing transportation-related operations within the organization. The Senior Transport Manager oversees the activities of the Fleet Managers and Officers, coordinates the movement of finished cement products and raw materials. The Senior Transport Manager also ensures that transportation activities comply with safety rules and regulations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the activities of all the managers and officers under his allocated fleet to ensure everyone work as designed/planned.
• Presentation of fleet report to the management and defending it accordingly
• Delegation of responsibilities to subordinates
• Drivers’ management and ensure safety adherence by the whole fleet
• Allocation of trucks to the fleet after repairs
• Ensuring strict compliance to the daily maintenance schedule of trucks in order to improve operational efficiency
• Oversee transportation department, including its assets and employees.
• Manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management
• Supervise scheduling of truck movement Develop partnerships with self- collection customers.
• Supervise scheduling of truck movement for Gypsum, Clinker and Coal transportation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree/HND in Transport and Logistics or related fields
• Master’s degree with specialization in Transport and Logistics is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 15 years of related experience with at least 10 years specific experience in transport.
• Able to operate effectively in a high-volume service driven transport operation.
• Strong understanding of current transport system, concepts, strategy and best practice.
• Strong organizing and time management skills
• Good interpersonal relationship skills and communication
