The Risk Manager is responsible for identifying and managing all aspects of risk within Sunbeth Group. This role involves developing and implementing risk management strategies to mitigate potential threats, ensure regulatory
compliance, and safeguard the organization's assets and reputation.

Core Responsibilities and Key Result Areas

• Risk Management, Identification and Assessment
• Develop and implement risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize risks across all business functions and operations.
• Coordinate risk assessments to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments and scenario analysis to anticipate potential threats and opportunities.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of insurance coverage and risk transfer mechanisms to minimize financial exposure.
• Lead special projects and initiatives related to risk management optimization, process improvement, and innovation.
• Drive a culture of risk awareness and accountability throughout the organization through training and awareness programs.

Risk Monitoring and Reporting

• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management processes and controls.
• Provide regular reports and updates on key risk exposures and mitigation efforts.
• Implement risk monitoring and reporting systems to track key risk indicators and trends.

Regulatory Compliance and Crisis Management

• Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks.
• Collaborate with departments to develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
• Manage the development of crisis management and business continuity plans to mitigate the impact of unforeseen events.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends that may impact risk management practices and strategies.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including industry peers, regulators, and risk management associations.

Knowledge Requirements

• In-depth knowledge and experience of risk management principles, methodologies, and best practices.

Requirements

• Minimum of Higher National Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or any related course.
• Master’s degree is an added advantage.
• Professional certification like ICAN, CISA or by reputable Risk Management Institute is an added advantage.
• Solid understanding of key hedging instruments (Futures, Options, OTC, Forwards, etc.)
• 6 - 8 years’ core experience, of which at least 3 years are in senior management role from an Ago-Commodity company.
• Experience in developing and implementing effective risk management strategies.
• Proven experience working in a group structure.
