About the Role

• Zodel Biotec is building a multidisciplinary scientific capability spanning genomics, molecular biology, bioinformatics, environmental science, biodiversity, and laboratory innovation.
• We are looking for a Research Scientist who can contribute to research projects, technical development, laboratory operations, and emerging scientific opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and conduct scientific research projects
• Design experiments and research workflows
• Perform molecular and laboratory procedures
• Support genomics and sequencing-related workflows
• Analyse and interpret biological datasets
• Support bioinformatics activities
• Develop and maintain laboratory SOPs
• Maintain accurate laboratory and research records
• Support environmental and biodiversity projects
• Evaluate new technologies and laboratory platforms
• Prepare technical reports and scientific documentation
• Support technical proposals and research collaborations
• Assist with laboratory procurement and technical evaluation
• Provide scientific input to commercial teams on technically complex projects
• Support internal technical training
• Maintain laboratory quality, safety, and documentation standards

Requirements

• B.Sc./M.Sc. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics,
• Environmental Biology, or a related discipline
• 2–5 years of relevant research/laboratory experience preferred
• Strong scientific reasoning
• Strong laboratory documentation skills
• Ability to independently investigate scientific problems
