    Research Officer

    Position Summary

    • The Research Officer will work closely with the Research Manager and the Executive Director and will contribute to the development of research concept notes, the supervision of research activities, and the development and implementations of PBDC programs/projects execution processes.
    • S/he will provide comprehensive research as required by the research manager and ED on all aspects of programs/projects to ensure successful delivery; conduct high level research and also ensure data quality at all levels of research and program process (i.e. design, data collection, analysis and reporting) and any other tasks as instructed by the manager/ ED from time to time.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop research concept notes and framework.
    • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of training courses (If requested by the ED).
    • Analyze and summarise data and help ensure high-quality reporting for all programs/projects.
    • Ensure programs/projects resources are applied efficiently and effectively to achieve program/projects objectives within established time frames and program plans.
    • Support senior management staff in the delivery of all aspect of programs/projects including working with partners/stakeholders and any associated administrative tasks.
    • Contribute to corporate knowledge and communications by providing articles and other report.
    • Prepare presentations and articles for publications.
    • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams assigned to specific programs/projects and work collaboratively with employees in other sections.
    • Content creation for training program.
    • Updating website content.
    • Fact checks and proofread manuscripts.
    • Preparing letters and MOUs.
    • May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.

    Education

    • Master's Degree in Humanities or Social Sciences or a Bachelor's Degree in related fields.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities or Social Sciences with at least 5 years work experience or a master’s degree in related field with at least 2 years work experience.

    Experience:

    • At least 5 years of relevant work experience (master’s degree), and at least 2 years relevant work experience (bachelor’s degree)
    • Prior knowledge and experience in research and research methodology.

    • Ability to liaise and communicate with a diverse range of people, including senior officers within organizations and Government ministries departments/agencies, senior members of industries, community, staff, and other stakeholders/partners.
    • Ability to operate effectively in a changing and complex environment, and to produce results under stress.
    • Demonstrate openness to change and ability to manage complexities.
    • Ability to work independently without supervision.
    • Computer literate: ability to work with Microsoft office tools, must be able to use the Internet and other research tools/software effectively.
    • Creative mindset with an ability to think outside the box.
    • Teamwork - excellent interpersonal, organizational and management skills and ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams.
