Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Research Engineer to join their dynamic R&D team. The ideal candidate will lead cutting-edge projects focused on developing sustainable and efficient energy technologies.

What You’ll Do

• Lead technical research on renewable energy systems (solar mini-grids, SHS, hybrid systems, etc.)
• Analyze system performance data and recommend improvements
• Design and simulate energy systems using tools like HOMER Pro, HelioScope, and other modeling software
• Stay updated with the latest developments in solar tech, batteries, and policy frameworks
• Support the preparation of technical documentation for grants, bids, and regulatory compliance
• Collaborate across teams (engineering, project dev, regulatory) to integrate research findings into execution.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Physics, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in system design and energy modeling tools (HOMER, HelioScope, PVsyst, etc).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with REA programs and Nigeria’s off-grid regulatory landscape is a plus.
• Good communication and report-writing skills.
• Self-driven, resourceful, and curious like a cat in a lab.

• Experience working on donor-funded energy access projects
