Research Assistant at Nairametrics

Job Summary 

Nairametrics is seeking an analytical, and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support our Research team in delivering timely, data-driven insights on the Nigerian economy, financial markets, and corporate landscape. 

The ideal candidate is passionate about economics, finance, and business news, enjoys working with data, and has strong research and writing skills. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-impact research publications while developing expertise in economic and financial analysis. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Monitor and track economic, financial, and corporate developments across Nigeria and global markets.  
• Collect, verify, and organize data from credible sources such as the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Debt Management Office (DMO), and other regulatory agencies.  
• Maintain and update internal research databases with accurate and timely information.  
• Support the Research team in gathering data, conducting analysis, and developing insights for reports, articles, and research publications.  
• Assist in drafting data-driven news stories, research briefs, and market updates.  
• Identify emerging economic trends and research opportunities that can be developed into compelling content.  
• Curate relevant economic and financial information from reputable sources to support research activities.  
• Collaborate with analysts and other team members on special research projects and assignments.  

Requirements 

• Bachelor\'s degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline.  
• Previous experience in research, journalism, or financial services. 
• Understanding of Nigeria\'s macroeconomic environment and financial markets 
• Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. 
• Ability to interpret data and communicate findings clearly.  
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
