Job Description:

• The Research and Development Officer performs research and development duties for the company.
• He/she will participate in research activities with the team and contribute to the development of knowledge-based products for the company.
• He/she will apply research theories, principles, and models to carry out experiments and project activities as part of the team.
• He/she will contribute to research programs by incorporating current developments to help improve existing products and explore the potential of new products.

Job Responsibilities

Apply research theories, principles, and models to assist in the development of intelligence systems and related technologies.

• Participate in designing and conducting experiments, simulations, and field trials for intelligence equipment and software.
• Assist in developing and testing prototypes for surveillance, reconnaissance, signal intelligence, and secure communications.
• Support integration of hardware and software subsystems.
• Collect, process, and analyze experimental or field data to evaluate system performance.
• Stay informed on current technological developments in intelligence and security systems, applying relevant updates to ongoing projects.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and other R&D staff to meet project goals and operational requirements.
• Document all research processes, results, and modifications for technical records and future reference.
• Participate in meetings with technical teams and relevant departments to discuss progress, challenges, and new ideas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. /B.Eng. /B.Tech. /HND) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Telecommunications, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
• Professional certifications will also be an added advantage.
• 0–3 years’ relevant experience in R&D, defense technology, security systems, or electronics development.
• Hands-on work with hardware prototyping, testing, and data analysis.
• Familiarity with intelligence systems such as SDR, radar, surveillance cameras, tracking devices, and secure communications.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams under operational confidentiality.
• Good understanding of research methodologies and documentation.
• Demonstrate technical design skills to create functional and attractive products that are cost-effective and user-friendly.
• Strong ethical standards and ability to handle classified information.
