The Relationship Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Nigeria, responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of individual and corporate customers.
This position involves building strong client relationships, understanding customer needs, and recommending appropriate banking products and services.
The Relationship Officer will handle account opening, cross-selling and upselling of products, monitoring account activity, and ensuring prompt resolution of customer inquiries and issues.
The role includes preparing reports on customer performance, supporting credit and risk assessments, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
The Relationship Officer will also participate in marketing and business development activities to attract new customers and deepen existing relationships.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an added advantage.
Customer relationship management skills, including the ability to build trust, maintain long-term partnerships, and provide proactive client support.
Sales and business development capabilities, with experience in identifying opportunities, cross-selling financial products, and meeting revenue or portfolio growth targets.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with clients, presenting solutions, negotiating terms, and collaborating with internal stakeholders.
Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess customer needs, review account performance, and support basic credit and risk evaluations.
Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client accounts, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Basic knowledge of banking operations, retail and corporate banking products, and regulatory requirements in the Nigerian financial services environment.
Proficiency in standard office productivity tools (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with core banking or CRM systems.
Prior experience in a relationship management, customer service, or sales role within financial services or a similar industry is highly beneficial.
