    Regional Finance Manager - Pan Africa

    Description

    The Regional Finance Manager is responsible for the analysis, consolidation and streamlining of Financial Performance, Discipline, Compliance & Decision Support in the PanAfrica Region.

    The role ensures compliance with corporate policies, IFRS/local GAAP while providing strategic financial guidance, performance analysis through data analysis and effective benchmarking to drive sustainable growth and support return on investment and assets profitability in the Region.

     

    Key Responsibilities Area:

    • The Regional Finance Manager bridges corporate HQ and local finance teams, ensuring strong compliance while acting as a strategic partner to regional leadership.

    Financial Management & Reporting:

    • Oversee regional consolidation of financial results, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
    • Provide meaningful financial analysis, commentary, and insights on business performance.
    • Implements regional Dashboards providing a synthetic view of the Regional performance, linking operations KPIs and Metrics to the financial KPIs leveraring Power BI , Automation and AI
    • Monitor regional cash flow, working capital, and liquidity requirements.

    Planning & Budgeting:

    • Lead regional annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning cycles
    • Provide strategic and operational guidance to the countries Financial Controllers and/or Management Accountants
    • Challenge assumptions and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
    • Track actuals vs. budget/forecast and recommend corrective actions
    • Ensure corrective action plans are rigorously implemented and monitored for effective results

    Business Partnering:

    • Act as a financial advisor to local business leaders in coordination with the Regional CFO.
    • Analyze support materials for commercial decision-making, encompassing scenario analysis, return on investment assessments, and insights on pricing and margins.
    • Identify risks, opportunities, and efficiency improvements
    • Implement a post-review of Business cases to assess any significant variance between current results and initial assumptions. Advise corrective action plan

    Working Capital Management:

    • Oversee the effective implementation of a Working Capital Committee in each country of the Region
    • Designate and collaborate with Group procurement & Operations on initiatives meant at optimizing working capital requirement in country.
    • Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

    Governance, Compliance & Risk Management:

    • Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP, tax regulations, and statutory reporting in all countries within the region.
    • Coordinates audit processes (internal and external) and maintain strong internal controls.
    • Reviews, Reports and Advises on regional financial risk, including FX exposure and credit management.

    Technology & Process Transformation:

    • Leverage technology and innovation to enhance financial processes, including analysis, reporting and decision-support processes across the Region
    • Partner with IT to drive integration of tools and systems, automation of processes and leverage AI for more efficacy

    Team leadership & Development:

    • Coach, develop or support finance teams across the region notably Financial Controllers /Management accountant and Cost Controllers
    • Build a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
    • Drive knowledge sharing and process harmonization across local finance units.

    Requirements

    Key qualifications & Experience:

    • First Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
    • Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) are a strong advantage.
    • Minimum 5 years of progressive finance experience, including multi-country/regional exposure ideally in a multi-national setting
    • FMCG & Manufacturing knowledge or Consultancy background would be a key advantage
    • Strong experience in Analytics, Reporting, FP&A, and Compliance.
    • Strong analytical skills and experience in Investments and Business cases presentation
    • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and strong Excel/financial modeling skills.
