Reach Stacker-Empty Handler Operator at APM Terminals

Job Purpose:

We are looking for a skilled Reach Stacker/Empty Handler Operator to safely operate container handling equipment used in stacking, moving, and organizing empty containers within the terminal. The role is essential to ensuring the smooth flow of operations and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate reach stackers or empty container handlers to load, unload, and relocate empty containers in the yard.
• Follow instructions from the yard supervisor and terminal operating system to carry out movements efficiently.
• Conduct daily pre-operational checks and report any mechanical or safety issues.
• Maintain accurate records of container movements and report any damages or discrepancies.
• Ensure that all operations are carried out in compliance with safety guidelines and terminal procedures.
• Cooperate with ground staff and signalers (banksmen) to avoid incidents and ensure safe maneuvering.
• Assist in basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school certificate or equivalent.
• Valid license or certification to operate heavy container handling equipment.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating reach stackers or empty handlers in a terminal or similar environment.
• Strong safety awareness and understanding of terminal operations.
• Ability to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills.
