    Radiographers

    Job Summary

    A leading company in the Healthcare/Medical Diagnostics Industry within Lagos state, is currently recruiting for experienced Radiographers. The Radiographers will be responsible for operating X-ray equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images that will aid in the diagnosis of various patient conditions.
    They will justify and perform Radiographic examinations, providing direct care and high quality diagnostic imaging service in order to assist in the management of patients referred or administered by clinicians.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Undertake examinations in accordance with departmental procedures, and record all associated information on the appropriate IT systems
    • Use radiographic equipment, including surgical and portable equipment to do x-rays
    • Prioritize patients to complete all scheduled appointments and allow for emergency procedures
    • Monitor the radiographic equipment and supplies and ensure there are sufficient supplies by submitting purchasing request proactively
    • Analyze and report the results of x-rays to the necessary physicians
    • Handle phone calls from patients and physicians to answer technical questions and offer pre-procedure guidance
    • Good knowledge of technological equipment such as ultrasound, X-ray, and MRI to diagnose a disease.
    • Develop treatment plans and overseeing the administration of radiotherapy for patients.
    • Collaborate with oncologists and other physicians to plan radiotherapy treatment for cancer patients.
    • Operate CT scanners, nuclear dyes, X-rays, and fluoroscope to obtain radiographic images of patients.
    • Evaluate patient condition under the guidance of a physician, prior to radiotherapy to determine the suitable radiographic technique for treatment.
    • Interact with patients to offer psychological support and reassurance.
    • Explain the details of a radiographic procedure to patients as well as provide necessary answers to their inquiries.
    • Correctly position patients for imaging.
    • Set accurate radiation levels in accordance with established standards, and also obtain patient consent prior to diagnostic imaging to fulfill legal requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with established safety regulations and procedures when operating radiation equipment in order to prevent ill-exposure to ionizing radiation.
    • Advise the necessary department and ensure the use of quality films to process digital images, to obtain high quality radiographs which are presented to physicians for interpretation.
    • Record and store patients’ examination results, ensuring compliance on Data Protection and confidentiality
    • Inspect diagnostic equipment to identify faults and see that they are fixed.
    • Monitor patients during and after radiation to ensure proper response to treatment.

    Person Specification 

    • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Radiology, Radiography, or Sonography.
    • Proven work experience, a minimum of 4 years
    • Knowledge of medical procedures and medicine
    • Outstanding thinking and reasoning skills
    • Proficiency in the use of computers and the most popular relevant software packages
    • Knowledge and understanding of biology
    • Ability to work independently, but also as a part of the healthcare team
    • Sensitivity and understanding towards patients during procedures
    • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform well under pressure
    • Physical strength to assist with the lifting or moving of patients to ensure their positioning

    Location: Lagos (Ikoyi and environs; Ikeja and environs)
    Work Structure: On-site
    Salary: N250 – 350,000 monthly gross (this depends on experience and skill level)
