Performs or assists in performing diagnostic examinations using radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals, administering radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals under the direction of specialist Nuclear Physician.
Performs or assists in basic clinical techniques.
Performs and assists in department administration and associated department tasks.
Responsibilities
Operation of Gamma camera to scan patients
QC and produce high quality diagnostic images
Planning and implementation of imaging and therapeutic protocols according to international and departmental guidelines
Participate in academic activities
Train undergraduate Radiography students in Nuclear medicine techniques
Train Post-graduate registrars in Nuclear Medicine equipment and techniques
Manage patient care and optimize patient imaging and therapy administrative and radiopharmaceutical requirements
Operate Radioactive Laboratory in quality control of radiopharmaceuticals and preparation of radiopharmaceuticals for injection
Radiation protection
Protocol implementation in radioactive contamination
Use software for gamma camera computers for analysis of images
Take responsibility for patient consent, identification and relevant clinical details prior to injections.
Administration and authorizations
Requirements
Interested candidates should possess relevant qualifications with at least 2 years work experience.
Skills:
This occupation has a level of skill of qualified Nuclear Medicine Radiographer.
Registration for Clinical Technologists is essential.
