Quality Control Officer (Cosmetic Ingredients) at Greengates Group

Job Description

• Checking that the assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures and complying with legal requirements
• Monitoring the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and discard any that do not meet requirements
• Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting a visual and measurement test, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
• Approve all finished products by confirming specifications and conducting required tests
• Return products for re-work if needed and complete documentation to confirm re-work
• Document and update inspection results by completing reports and logs
• Training the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence
• Proposing improvements to the production process
• To ensure that the production lines operate efficiently by sharing responsibility of:
• Managing the machines / equipment, input and output materials for efficient production
• Operating the machinery, setting it up for production, doing routine maintenance and cleaning
• Participate in the general administration and management of the Manufacturing team
• Undertaking training to meet legislation requirements
• Enforcing R&D and QC programmes
• Liaising and communicating with other related team lead
• Undertaking other duties within the manufacturing team and the wider business as deemed reasonable by the organisation

Key Performance Indicator

• Reduced rate of complaint
• Increase in the number of daily test executed by 10%
• Reduction in the number of severe defects found in the products by 5%
• Reduction in the number of active defects by 5% in any given time period
• Improvement in the efficiency of our production equipment
• Daily standardization of all laboratory and production scales
• Improvement in product compliance rate
• Daily delivery of set targets 
• Zero reportable Health & Safety incident

Qualifications:

• Minimum of B.Sc or HND in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry or related Field.
• 1-3 years’ experience in Quality assurance or control position
• Not older than 35 years
• Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain and teach methodologies.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office suite.
