PV Design Engineer at Westa.solar

The Role

• This role is responsible for technical and engineering design aspects of all solar and solar-hybrid projects at westa.solar.
• It involves working closely with the business development teams to ensure that projects are technically sound and financially viable with LCOE optimized.
• Extensive knowledge of energy management and solar-hybrid systems, and experience with diesel hybridization and fuel-saver technologies is required.

Duties and Responsibilities
You will be a proactive and integral member of the engineering and project team to carry out the following:

• Perform technical engineering, design, and feasibility for solar hybrid and grid-tied systems
• Provide planning and technical advice on all project design and planning
• Sign off on designs and verification for technical completeness
• Support commissioning activities at project completion
• Review commissioning documentation at all stages of project delivery
• Perform economic analysis and return-on-investment calculations in collaboration with relevant teams
• Interact with international suppliers and EPC contractors
• Verify accuracy of OEM product information and certify all OEMs to work with organization
• Provide project quality assurance at all stages of project delivery

Requirements
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• B.Eng / B.Sc Electrical / Electronic Engineering or Similar field
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role
• Experience with CAD & Simulation Tools: PVSyst, Helioscope, Homer, SketchUp, Autocad
• Excellent Electrical Design Skills
• “Resolver” of problems with exceptional attention to detail
• Proficient understanding and knowledge of latest solar technology
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools
• Persistence and attention to detail in pursuit of objectives; excellent numeracy and logical reasoning
• Certified experience designing and deploying PV-Diesel Hybrid Systems
