    Project Driver

    Position Overview

    • The Project Driver will provide reliable transportation support for TracTrac’s project activities in Keffi, Nasarawa State.
    • The driver will be responsible for safely transporting project staff, partners, and materials, ensuring proper vehicle maintenance, and adhering to organizational and donor regulations.
    • This role is integral to the smooth implementation of field activities, supporting TracTrac’s mission in line with NGO standards and best practices.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Safely drive project staff, partners, and visitors to and from field locations, meetings, and other official assignments.
    • Maintain high standards of professional driving etiquette, ensuring the safety of all passengers and goods.
    • Ensure vehicles are kept in good working condition through regular checks, servicing, and prompt reporting of mechanical issues.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including vehicle logbooks, fuel consumption reports, and service/maintenance documentation.
    • Adhere to TracTrac’s transport policies, donor regulations, and local traffic laws at all times.
    • Support logistics tasks such as delivery and collection of documents, parcels, and project materials.
    • Assist with field operations by providing logistical support to the state team where needed.
    • Ensure vehicles are equipped with necessary safety tools, first aid kits, and valid documents (insurance, registration, driver’s license).
    • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of integrity in line with TracTrac’s values and NGO principles.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Minimum of SSCE (Senior Secondary Certificate Examination) or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is an advantage.
    • Valid Nigerian driver’s license with clean driving record.
    • At least 3–5 years’ driving experience with NGOs, donor-funded projects, or development organizations preferred.
    • Familiarity with road networks in Nasarawa State and neighboring regions.
    • Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics and ability to carry out minor repairs.
    • Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of Hausa or local languages in Nasarawa is an asset.
    • Proven ability to work respectfully and effectively with diverse teams and community members.
    • Commitment to safety, accountability, and NGO ethical standards.
