Project Control Manager at International Energy Services Limited (IESL)

Job Summary:

The Project Management and Control Manager is responsible for overseeing project management practices, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. This role involves providing guidance, oversight, and support to project managers, as well as monitoring project performance and identifying areas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Review with project managers across company, the overall cost estimate submitted and approved by clients for each project, manage project plans, including set objectives, scope, timelines, and budgets
• Oversee and monitor project execution, ensuring that deliverables meet quality standards and are completed on schedule
• Develop and maintain project management frameworks, policies, and procedures
• Provide guidance and oversight to project managers, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards
• Ensure project controls are in place, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality assurance
• Continually reviewing and monitoring project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effectiveness
• Preparing from time to time the overall project schedule
• Monitor and analyze project performance, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for growth
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans as needed
• Collaborate with stakeholders both external and internal, including clients, sub-contractors and team members, to ensure project deliverables meet expectations
• Identify and share best practices across projects, promoting efficiency and consistency
• Implementing and maintaining Project management and Control system including internal Project Procedures
• Track project progress, identify variances, and take corrective actio

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any Engineering discipline with MBA and/or accounting professional qualification.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or PgMP certification required; and a minimum of 10 years of experience in project/program management.
• Proven experience in project management, with a deep understanding of project management principles and practices.
• Ability to lead and motivate project teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical skills to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
• Ability to analyse complex problems and develop effective solutions.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders, including project sponsors, clients, and team members.
• Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
• Ability to think strategically, aligning project management practices with organizational goals.
• Ability to coach and mentor project managers, developing their skills and expertise.
• Ability to drive change and improvement initiatives, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
• Proficient in project controls tools and software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP PS, Excel, Power BI)
• Deep understanding of project governance, budgeting, risk frameworks, and portfolio management.
• Strong executive communication, stakeholder engagement, and organizational change skill
