Job Summary

• As a Programme Officer specializing in Leprosy and Skin and Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), you will play a pivotal role in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of Leprosy, dermatological conditions and NTDs within the PROSKIN Project.
• Your responsibilities will encompass various tasks, including palient care, research, community outreach, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
Program Development:

• Collaborate with the program team and stakeholders to design and develop comprehensive programs and projects that address the needs and challenges faced by individuals with Skin and NTDs.
• Ensure alignment with the organization's mission and goals.

 Implementation:

• Oversee the effective implementation of programs and activities related to Skin and NTDs
• Coordinate with earn members, partners, and beneficiaries to ensure smooth execution and timely delivery of services.
• Monitor progress and quality and address arry issues that may arise.

Clinical Care:

• Provide expert medical care to palents presending weith Leprosy and skin disorders and neglected tropical diseases.
• Conduct thorough examavations, diagnicae conditions accurately. and formulate appropriate treatment plans.

Treatment Planning:

• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment strategies tailored to individual patient nouds.
• Utilize evidence-based practices and stay updated on the talest advancements in dermatology and tropical medicine.

Patient Education:

• Educate patients and their families about their conditions, breatment options, and preventive measures.
• Empower individuals to manage their health effectively and prevent disease transmission.

Research and Innovation:

• Engage in clinical research initiatives to enhance understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of skin diseases and neglected tropical diseases.
• Contribute findings to medical literature and participate in scientific conferences.

Community Outreach:

• Collaborate with local communities and public health organizations to raise awareness about skin health and neglected tropical diseases.
• Organize outreach program, workshops, and educational campaigns to promote disease prevention and early detection.

Capacity Building:

• Provide training and mentorship to healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and community health workers, to improve their knowledge and skills in managing akin disorders and NTDs.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams,including dermatologists, infectious disease specialists. epidemiologists, and public health experts, to address complex medical issues and develop integrated healthcare solutions.

Quality Improvement:

• Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure adherence to clinical guidelines, protocols, and bestpractices.
• Monitor patient outcomes, evaluate performance metrics, and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

• Candidates should possess a Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in Public Health preferably in the skin sector or with disability-focused NGOs
• Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Proven experience in diagnosing and treating skin disordersand neglected tropical diseases.
• Strong clinical acumen and proficiency in evidence-based medicine.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, and community stakeholders
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and quality improvement
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic healthcare environment
• Sensitivity, empathy, and a commitment to promoting inclusivity and rights of persons with disabilities.
• Availability to travel to attend meeings, conferences, and events when required.
