They are to oversee the end-to-end manufacturing process of diesel/gas generator sets, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety.
MAIN FUNCTIONS
Oversee the end-to-end assembly process of diesel and gas generator sets, ensuring all units are built to strict mechanical and electrical specifications.
Develop and execute comprehensive production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery timelines, minimizing lead times and backlogs.
Manage a team of technicians and assembly workers, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations to maintain high productivity and morale.
Supervise critical testing procedures, including load-bank, voltage, and frequency testing, to ensure every generator meets industry performance and emission standards.
Implement Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, and improve overall operational efficiency.
Coordinate with the department to manage inventory levels of engines, alternators, and controllers, preventing production delays due to material shortages.
Maintain a rigorous safety program, ensuring all floor operations comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), First-Pass Yield, and On-Time Delivery.
Manage production budgets and authorize expenditures for equipment maintenance, repairs, or upgrades to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with engineering and sales departments to facilitate new product introductions and ensure production capabilities align with market requirements.
RELEVANT INFORMATION
Education: Minimum of B.SC/HND in Engineering.
Experience: 4+ years of experience in production management, with specific experience in generator manufacturing, heavy equipment, or industrial machinery.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of manufacturing principles, quality management systems, and generator assembly processes.
Leadership: Proven capability to lead large teams, solve complex technical problems, and work under pressure.
