    Production and Operations Lead (System Building Role)

    SALARY ₦180,000 – ₦250,000 (Performance-based review after 90 days)

    Accommodation available (if required).

    ROLE OVERVIEW

    68byalake is rebuilding its fashion production operations from the ground up and is seeking a hands-on Production & Operations Lead to design, enforce, and manage a system-dependent factory, not a tailor-dependent one.

    This role is for someone who can:

    • Work with limited resources
    • Build structure before expansion
    • Personally control the floor
    • Document systems that will outlive them
    • This is not a people-pleasing role.
    • This is not a theory role.
    • This is a build-first, scale-later position.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Production Control

    • Personally supervise daily production activities.
    • Assign and monitor daily outputs for each tailor.
    • Enforce deadlines and quality benchmarks.
    • Prevent unauthorized work during factory hours.

    System Setup & Documentation

    • Create clear production SOPs for:
      • Sewing standards
      • Finishing standards
      • Measurement interpretation
      • Accept/reject quality rules
    • Design and maintain:
      • Target boards
      • Output logs
      • Requisition records
      • QC checklists

    Quality Control (Hands-On Initially)

    • Personally inspect garments before approval.
    • Approve or reject work strictly based on written standards.
    • Ensure corrections are done before payment.

    Inventory & Material Accountability

    • Track fabric inflow and outflow.
    • Enforce requisition documentation.
    • Ensure zero material diversion or wastage.

    Recruitment & Training

    • Recruit tailors gradually based on output needs.
    • Conduct practical tests before onboarding.
    • Train tailors using documented systems, not verbal instructions.

    REQUIRED PROFILE

    • Minimum 5 years experience in garment production or factory operations.
    • Must have run a production floor, not just supervised people.
    • Comfortable working with lean teams and tight budgets.
    • Strong documentation and discipline mindset.
    • No entitlement mentality.
    • Willing to build before demanding expansion.
