Production Accountant at The Paper Packaging Company

Role Description 

• The Production Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Lagos, responsible for managing and reporting financial activities related to production operations. 
• This role includes monitoring production costs, preparing and analyzing cost reports, and ensuring accurate allocation of expenses to projects and manufacturing lines. 
• The Production Accountant will track cash flow related to production, support budgeting and forecasting, and collaborate with operations, procurement, and finance teams to maintain accurate inventory valuation and cost control. 
• Additional responsibilities include reconciling production accounts, supporting audits, implementing process improvements, and ensuring compliance with internal financial policies and relevant regulations.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications such as a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA) are an advantage.
• Candidates should possess strong Accounting and Finance skills, including knowledge of cost accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Candidates should possess Project Accounting experience to manage production-related budgets, track costs, and support project performance analysis.
• Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to interpret production data, identify cost variances, and recommend efficiency and cost-saving measures.
• Candidates should possess Cash Flow management skills to forecast, monitor, and optimize cash movements related to production activities.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with manufacturing or packaging industry practices are beneficial.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in an on-site operational environment.
