Procurement Specialist at Elvaridah

Job Objective/ Purpose of Job

• The Procurement Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services necessary for operations.
• This role involves collaborating with internal stakeholders, managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and optimizing the procurement process to support the organization's training programs for both internal teams and external clients.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Main tasks will include but are not limited to the following:
• Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the company's training needs.
• Source, select, and negotiate with vendors to obtain the best pricing and terms for goods and services.
• Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and resolving any vendor-related issues.
• Evaluate vendor performance regularly to ensure adherence to quality, cost, and delivery standards.
• Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Implement cost-effective procurement practices without compromising quality or service levels.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock availability for training programs.
• Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and optimize inventory turnover.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations in all procurement activities.
• Identify and mitigate procurement risks, such as supply chain disruptions or vendor non-compliance.

EDUCATIONAL&PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Education Qualification: A bachelor’s degree in any discipline. A master’s degree will be an added advantage
• Professional Qualification: Possession of relevant professional certifications is required such as CIPS, CPSM, CSCP or CILT.
• Experience: At least 6 years post NYSC experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role
