Job Summary

• We are looking for a reliable and experienced Procurement Personnel to join our supermarket team in Anthony, Lagos.
• The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience purchasing goods directly from the open market, strong negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of retail supply needs.
• This role requires someone street-smart, detail-oriented, and capable of ensuring consistent product availability at the best possible prices.

Key Responsibilities

• Purchase goods and supplies for the supermarket, especially from the open market.
• Negotiate effectively with suppliers, traders, and wholesalers to secure competitive prices and favorable terms.
• Ensure the quality, freshness, and quantity of goods purchased meet supermarket standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, open market traders, and wholesalers.
• Monitor inventory levels and work with store managers to determine stock needs.
• Maintain proper records of all procurement activities, including invoices and receipts.
• Conduct regular market surveys to track product prices, availability, and seasonal trends.
• Minimize stockouts and wastage by aligning purchases with demand forecasts.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods to the supermarket.
• Collaborate with the finance team for payment processing and proper documentation.
• Prepare regular procurement reports and highlight cost-saving initiatives.

Requirements

• HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ proven experience in procurement, with specific experience in open market purchasing (essential).
• Strong knowledge of retail operations, market pricing, and vendor management.
• Excellent negotiation, bargaining, and communication skills.
• Ability to evaluate product quality and value for money in fast-paced market settings.
• High integrity and accountability in handling cash and transactions.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word) for basic reporting.
• Must live within or around Anthony, Lagos for proximity and ease of market runs.
