    Procurement Officer

    Job Summary

    • The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the organization’s purchasing activities, ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
    • The role ensures compliance with internal procurement policies, vendor management, and contract negotiation while maintaining quality standards and supporting operational objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Source and evaluate reliable suppliers and vendors based on price, quality, service, and delivery capabilities.
    • Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
    • Liaise with internal departments to determine procurement needs, quality specifications, and delivery timelines.
    • Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies to avoid shortages and production delays.
    • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
    • Ensure proper documentation, approval, and compliance with procurement policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct market research to keep abreast of market trends, pricing, and availability of goods.
    • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to obtain the best possible deals.
    • Maintain an up-to-date procurement database, including supplier information, purchase history, and pricing.
    • Resolve any supply issues or discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
    • Coordinate with the finance department on invoice processing and payment reconciliation.
    • Prepare and present regular procurement reports to management.

    Key Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing & Supply, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, Economics, Logistics, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in Civil Construction.
    • Professional certification (e.g, CIPS, NIPSM, or related) is an added advantage.
    • Solid knowledge of procurement policies, vendor sourcing, and contract management.
    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and procurement software
    • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
