Procurement Officer at Eastern Plains Integrated Farms Limited

JOB SUMMARY

• The Procurement Officer is responsible for executing purchasing processes, ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services, and maintaining supplier relationships. The role supports the Procurement Supervisor in cost optimization, vendor management, and compliance with procurement policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, negotiate favourable terms, and support vendor selection and contract management.
• Conduct vendor evaluation and performance monitoring, maintain an up-to-date supplier database, and ensure suppliers meet agreed service and delivery standards.
• Prepare and process purchase orders and procurement documentation in line with company policies, approval procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate with Inventory, Warehouse, and Finance to monitor stock requirements, reconcile procurement transactions and invoices, and ensure timely availability of materials.
• Monitor procurement expenditure, pricing, and delivery timelines, identifying cost-saving opportunities and resolving procurement issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier documentation, and performance reports, and prepare regular procurement reports for management.

QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations.
• Proven experience in vendor management, quotation evaluation, purchase order processing, and supplier performance monitoring.
• Working knowledge of procurement regulations, contract negotiation, and procurement compliance.
• Professional certification such as CIPS, CPSM, or relevant procurement/logistics certification is an advantage.
